Polymer pipes for building water and sewer systems for the first time were used at the end of 30 - at the beginning of the fortieth in countries of Western Europe. Then this water line and water drain building technology expanded worldwide displacing tubes from conventional stuffs: steel, copper, asbestos-cement, concrete.

Today, all over the world, especially in developed countries, in water supply systems, canalization, and heating systems building the polymer pipes occupy the leading position. Moreover, their using spectrum has extended large, gas pipelines, ventilating and aspiration systems, drains, cable ducts etc. building are carried out with using of polymer pipes.
It happened because of many advantages comparably with other pipes, there are some of advantages:

Application fields of polymer:

  • Transporting of potable water, technical liquids (solutions of acids, alkalis, salts, mineral fertilizers).

  • Underground gas pipelines conveying natural combustion gases.

  • The fecal, telephone drain.

  • Electro cables protection.

  • Warm floor, heating of hothouses.

  • Air ducts.

  • Sanitation.

Advantage of polymer pipes over steel:

  • Cheaper.

  • Are durable, operation services term is at 20 (deg). Celsius - 50 years.

  • Do not demand cathode protections, and so almost do not require technical services.

  • High corrosion and chemical resistance.

  • Are not afraid of water contacts and hostile (aggressive) environments.

  • ЪDue to the course of time technical characteristics of a polyethylene pipes are only improved (the smoothness of an internal surface and minor diameter of a pipe enlarge).

  • The possibility of an incrustation on internal surface is eliminated.

  • Low heat conduction lowering heat losses and reducing formation of a condensate on the outside surface of tubes.

  • Decrease of probability of pipeline destruction as a result of liquid freezing, although the pipe is not cracked up, and is enlarged in diameter, gaining the former size at thawing of a liquid.

  • Light weight makes easier installation works, especially in straitened conditions.

  • The polyethylene tubes in 5-7 times are more lighter than the steel ones, therefore: their small movements at mounting do not demand lifting gears, one transport vehicle ships in 5-7 times more polyethylene tubes, than the steel samples.

  • Reliability of welds connections during whole effective life of pipelines.

  • The butt-welding of polyethylene pipes is much cheaper, more simply and takes less time.

  • Possibility of repeated remounting at low costs.

  • Lower labour intensiveness during the mounting process.

  • The polyethylene pipes are much longer than metal.

  • At slump of a building to which the pipeline is connected would cause destruction of a metal pipe, while polyethylene is capable to stretch without any loss up to 7 %

  • The polymer tubes do not belong to the category of hazardous freights.

  • The polyethylene tube is a reliable shield from microorganisms and bacteria, its internal layer does not return to water any parasitic additives.
